Zoho Books can be up and running in a day — if the setup is done in the right order. Here’s the checklist we follow for clients.

1. Organisation profile

Enter your legal name, address, GSTIN and financial year. These flow into every invoice, so check them carefully.

2. GST settings

  • Enable GST and enter your registration type and date.
  • Configure tax rates and default HSN/SAC codes on items.
  • Enable e-Invoicing and e-Way Bills if they apply to you.

3. Invoice templates

Add your logo, bank details, payment terms and signature. Create separate templates for tax invoices, quotes and delivery challans.

4. Customers, vendors and items

Import contacts and items from Excel or your previous software, including GSTINs and place of supply, then enter opening balances.

5. Banking

Connect bank feeds where supported and set rules to auto-categorise regular transactions.

6. Automation

Turn on payment reminders, recurring invoices and workflow rules. This is where Zoho Books saves the most time.

Moving from Tally? Plan a clean cut-over date and migrate opening balances rather than full history.

We handle complete Zoho Books implementation including migration and training.
